How to support someone experiencing domestic abuse.

Check they are safe

Listen to them and do not judge

Show the person that you believe them and understand the seriousness of their situation (facial expressions are very important)

Find out their preferred language (BSL British Sign Language, but there are over 300 different sign languages around the world)

Remind them it is not their fault
