There are all sorts of ways to raise money for Lighthouse. This year there are a couple of special events you can support.

 

Farmhouse Five for Females Run

Wine Tasting Evening

Thursday 11th May 2017 at 7pm

the evening will be fun, informative and most importantly about enjoying wine.

Tickets are £22 to include food and the wine used during the tasting. A pay bar will also be available during the evening. Ipswich Sports Club, Henley Road, Ipswich IP1 4LN

 

Walk/Cycle/Run

Fundraising Online

Whether you’re running a marathon, organising a birthday party, raising money in someone’s memory or climbing Kilimanjaro, setting up an online fundraising page makes it quick, easy and secure for your friends and family to donate or sponsor you.

How does it work?

Lighthouse Women’s Aid is registered with Virgin Money Giving that will collect donations and Gift Aid on our behalf. Here you can set up your page remembering to choose Lighthouse Women’s Aid as your beneficiary charity.

 

Once you set up your page, one of our fundraising team will get in touch to provide any support you need with your fundraising activities. We can publicise your page through our twitter and Facebook pages as well as in our events diary if appropriate.

You can help families have a brighter future, free from domestic abuse by fundraising in lots of great ways. Here are a few of our favourite themes and ideas to get you started.

 

 

PARTY

 

Themed Fancy Dress Night – why not choose your favourite era with music, snacks and games to re-live those days.

 

Eurovision Night – host this with friends. You can even allocate a country to each guest, asking them to bring nibbles or drink that reflects the country.

 

Murder Mystery Night – host the ultimate ‘who dunnit!’

 

 

CHALLENGE

 

Do you have a vice and need to kick the habit? Ask friends and family to sponsor you to give up your vice for a day, a week or even a month.

 

A head shave or a leg wax – set a sponsorship target and then take a deep breath and be brave!

 

Virtual Event – set a group of friends or colleagues a virtual walk challenge e.g. Lands End to John O’Groats and get those activity trackers on to tot up those miles between you.

 

 

SPORTY

 

Hold a golf championship, darts tournament or 5 aside football challenge – each individual or team pays to enter. You could also do a sweepstake for who will win.

 

Set yourself a sporting challenge – a sponsored run, swim, cycle or even a triathlon and ask people to sponsor your efforts.

 

 

JUST THE GIRLS

 

Host a pyjama party – watch chick flicks and give your besties a manicure, then just donate what you would have spent on a night out.

 

Hold a ‘Swish Night’ – do you find some lovely clothes in your wardrobe that you loved when you bought them, but now don’t seem to wear? Bring them to a swish night and swap for others to revitalise your wardrobe.

 

 

SOCIAL

 

Get together with your neighbours & friends – hold a Lighthouse Tea Party, or if tea’s not your thing, a beer & curry night or cheese and wine evening.

 

‘Donate your Plate’ – rather than going to a fancy restaurant, invite friends over for dinner and ask them to donate what they’d spend eating out to Lighthouse instead.

 

Team up with your local pub and arrange a quiz night – guaranteed to get those little grey cells working and bring the community together.
